Performative dance

THE CONDUCT OF ANIMALS is the title of Eduardo Hurtado's first stage piece and takes as a supporting text the book of the same name. THE CONDUCT OF ANIMALS is a compendium of fragments that have to do with the drum and the wild, the mirror. A meeting of howls in the night. The cave. A hanging rope. A guttural, unpredetermined becoming. Animalizing the body and screaming. A silence. A face that slowly slides down a stone wall. A spell, a way of exhorting the wound caused by being cornered, at that precise moment when a pack of children brutally attacks the chimera in the schoolyard. The hunt.

LA CONDUCTA… is a dance/performative piece that arises from the aforementioned text as a queer and exhortative stage text, constructed specifically for Zinegoak in the context of La Fundición, whose adaptation to a stage piece explicitly addresses the issue of child abuse and harassment.
