Caída (Hemisferio Cero)-Festival Internacional FIEQ
2015
Physical theatre and performance
The play revolves around a woman's failed attempt to tell a story, showing her problematic relationship with language, which is finally resolved when she reveals the mystery that made her flee. She is accompanied by the figures of her father, her mother, and herself as a child, who wander around in shadows. Although the subjectivity of the character marks the narration, common family practices underlie it, especially in Latin America.
The Caída (Hemisferio Cero) project brings together Ecuadorian artists from the world of theatre, visual arts and sound arts to create a disturbing show that explores physical actions and the use of objects as the basis of its proposal. The costume design, lighting, sound and stage design, a space occupied by sewing machines that spin a large net, place the spectator in the chaotic unconscious of the protagonist.
